Step 1 : Inquiry
Send an inquiry form below and I will reach out to you via email to discuss package options for the session type you are interested in.
Step 2 : Consultation
Once you reach out via the contact form I will contact you via the way you choose to be contacted. Which will discuss the details of a newborn session, the experience, and what is all included and your vision for your dream session.
Newborn sessions are ONLY done on weekday mornings. Weekend sessions -available for an additional fee.
Step 3 : The session
The day of your session has arrived! I will come to your home with everything needed to create a beautiful, professional newborn photography experience. From lighting and backdrops to wraps, props, and wardrobe, your in-home session is fully prepared in advance.
My style is simple, soft, and timeless. I primarily use neutral tones to create classic images, while also offering a curated selection of colors for your newborn session. After you complete your pre-session questionnaire, I will thoughtfully select and bring pieces that reflect your preferences and vision.
All you need to do is have your baby ready, then relax and enjoy the experience. Newborn sessions are designed to be calm and unhurried, allowing plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and natural posing.
Parent and sibling portraits are always included, unless you have selected the dainty wrapped newborn session.
Step 4 : Gallery reveal/ Image Selections
The best part!
Approximately within 3-4 business days following your newborn photography session, I will send you over your proofing gallery via an online password protected gallery. This is the time where you will choose your favorite images for editing.
 Step 5 : Delivery
Your gorgeous products and/or digital images are ready to go to their forever home within 3-6 weeks from when I receive your final image selections back. I will reach out to you once your products have arrived and we will schedule a time for me to come hand deliver them to you! There is nothing more amazing than having tangible products which are now the focal points in your home for years to come.

I never felt rushed when my daughter got fussy and needed to eat which I’m so thankful for. She has gained a lifelong client from my family for all of our studio sessions as her communication, amazing personality, and carefulness is something that was so wonderful. I don’t think I’ve ever felt as comfortable in a studio as I felt then. With newborn photographers the biggest question is if it they have adequate training and truthfully know how delicate it is handling a newborn. Some are in it for a quick buck but not Brenaya. She is in it for the love of it, I could truly see that. I could see how careful she was and that is what you want in a newborn photographer. FAQ- Newborn Photography Session
Can siblings join in on the session?
They absolutely can! I do these photos towards the end of the session. So I ask if there are siblings that it is best if another parent is around to hang out with them while we are shooting baby by themselves or another parent/relative/friend bring them towards the end of the session when it is time for parent poses.
Newborn sessions take anywhere from 2.5-3 hours in length and little ones do not like to sit still for very long waiting for their turn to be photographed.
How old should my newborn be for photos?
Newborn portraits are best done within the first 3 weeks of your baby being born with the sweet spot being within the first 11-18 days following delivery. Your baby will be very sleepy still at this age and won’t mind being posed in squishy newborn positions. After this age range babies tend to not be as sleepy and are more alert during their session; which can mean your newborn session could take a little longer.
When should you schedule your Newborn Session in Lincoln with Brenaya Faye Photography?
It’s highly recommended to schedule your newborn photography session before your baby arrives.
If you want a guaranteed spot it’s best to book at least 4 weeks to 3 months prior to your due date.
When booking your newborn photoshoot with me I will tentatively put your due date on my calendar and once you deliver we will schedule a firm date for the session within those first Three weeks of baby being born.
I only schedule a certain number of clients a month so be sure to secure early.
Do you provide digital images?
Yes, all packages include digital files. Although I do believe that your portraits do deserve to be displayed beyond digitally! The Raw/Un-edited images are not provided to client.Â
What should I wear for the family portion of the newborn session?
It’s best to avoid bright colors and clothing with logos. Creams, neutrals, blacks and grays photograph beautifully and are very classic and timeless. I also love the look of textures/ simple patterns.
The shooting space will be kept nice and warm during the session (by a portable heater) to keep baby comfortable and cozy. So you will want to wear something light and then change into your clothes for the family portion when it is time.
I do have a client closet with dresses/gowns/ tops for mama and siblings if you wanted to wear something in the client closet.
Where do newborn sessions take place?
Specializing in Newborn Photography in Lafayette, Indiana, I aim to serve all clients in and around Indianapolis metro areas. Your newborn photoshoot will take place in the comfort of your own home.
Newborn sessions are done on weekday mornings starting at 9-10am. Weekend availability is available for an additional fee.

Please allow 1–3 hours for your in-home newborn session. Each session is kept simple and baby-focused, with a curated selection of props, wraps, outfits, headbands, and hats available for use. Parent and sibling portraits are always included.
I accept a limited number of newborn sessions each month, so early booking is recommended to secure your session date.
If your baby is older than 18 days, that is absolutely okay. While younger newborns are often easier to pose, older babies can still be beautifully photographed with patience.
