Family Activities Lincoln NE | Ideas for the Summer!
Summer here in Lincoln, Nebraska is just filled with fun family activities that everyone can enjoy! In this blog I will list out some fun ideas to get the family together and have a great time!
Lincoln Children’s Zoo
This zoo is very family and kid friendly, many of their exhibits are educational and they often times have behind the scenes experiences and feedings. You are able to feed the giraffes which is so much fun! They also have train rides which takes you around the zoo twice! Also don’t forget to scream as loud as you can in the tunnel! hahah. What I love most about the Lincoln children’s zoo is the water play right in front after you enter the zoo. This is a great thing to have on those hot summer days so be sure to pack along a towel and the kids swim suits.
Outdoor Movie Nights
All outdoor movies in Lincoln are free of charge and no need to RSVP, they start at 8:45Pm at the locations below! Be sure to pack a blanket and/or some chairs! Also don’t forget the snacks! Below is the summer list of movies and where they will be playing!

You can enjoy many vendors and food such as muffins, pies, breads, cookies, egg rolls, homemade root beer, coffee, teas, tacos, seasonings, soup mixes, jams, breakfast sandwiches, bird houses, jewelry, artwork, clothing, soaps and lotions and much more! My favorite is the fresh flowers!
Splash Pads & Waterparks
I don’t think there is any child that does not like the waterpark!
Star City Shores: Here you will find water slides, a lazy river, a wave pool, and interactive water play structures. It is located at 4375 N. 33rd Street and is open daily from 1pm to 6pm. They do charge a fee per person to use the waterpark.
Belmont Pool: This location has a pool, waterslide and a splash pad for the little tots! Location: 12th and Manatt and open from 1pm-6pm. They do charge a fee to get in per person.
Trago Park: Trago park is my absolute go to! It is a park and splash pad! My little ones love it here. Also there is a nice walking trail right from the park so its a win win for us all! Location: 22nd and U Streets and open from 11am-7pm. This park/splash pad is free of charge.
Woods pool & Splash Park: Location: 3200 J St, this location is the best of both worlds with a splash pad and a swimming pool. They have Toddler days at the splash pad on Wednesdays from 10a to 11:30a for little ones 5 years old and younger. Toddler days are $3/person.
These are just a few of the family activities here in Lincoln. I hope this post helped you find some fun for you and your family this summer! If you are needing a family photographer this fall for family photos i’d love to help!
