Choose between a timeless monochromatic cake smash or a fully customized themed setup designed around your vision. Your session includes professional lighting, backdrop and set styling, age appropriate props, and access to my curated wardrobe for little ones.
Cake may be provided for children with no known food allergies. If your child has allergies or you prefer to skip the cake, we can create a fun alternative using another food or birthday treat.

What to expect before, during and after booking
STEP 1: INQUIRE
Complete the inquiry form to get started. I’ll be in touch via email with availability, collection details, and everything you need to choose the cake smash experience that is right for your family.
STEP 2: PLAN & PERSONALIZE
Once your session is reserved, the fun begins! You’ll receive a detailed questionnaire so I can learn more about your little one and the vision you have for their first birthday portraits.
Whether you envision a clean monochromatic setup or a fully styled theme, we’ll choose the colors, styling, wardrobe, and details together. I recommend reserving your Indianapolis cake smash photography session several weeks in advance, with the actual session often taking place around 10–11 months if you would like your finished images before your baby’s first birthday.
STEP 3: YOUR IN-HOME CAKE SMASH
This is where the experience becomes effortless.
I arrive at your home with the professional lighting, backdrop, props, styling pieces, and other session essentials needed to create your setup. You don’t need a picture-perfect home or a dedicated studio space; I create the studio experience for you.
We’ll begin with clean portraits of your little one before introducing the cake. This gives your baby time to get comfortable with me, the camera, and their surroundings before the messy fun begins.
Your child is never expected to perform for the camera. We follow their lead, take breaks when needed, and let their personality guide the session.
STEP 4: CHOOSE YOUR FAVORITES
Following your session, you’ll receive a private proofing gallery where you can select the images included with your chosen collection.
Once your favorites are selected, each image is professionally edited and retouched in my signature timeless style. Additional images and heirloom artwork may also be available if you fall in love with more than your collection includes.
STEP 5: YOUR FINISHED PORTRAITS
Your fully edited digital portraits will be delivered through a private online gallery approximately 3-4 weeks after your image selections are received.
If you choose printed artwork, I’ll also take care of the ordering process so your favorite images can become tangible pieces for your home, not just photographs that live on your phone.
