Can parents and siblings be included in the newborn session?
Absolutely YES! I always include family poses in all of our newborn sessions.
How old should my baby be for newborn photos?
Newborn portraits are typically photographed within the first three weeks after birth, with 11–18 days being an ideal window for those sleepy, curled newborn poses. Every baby is different, though, and there is no need to worry if your little one is older than 18 days. Beautiful newborn portraits can still be created, and your session will always be guided by your baby’s individual needs and comfort.
When should I book my newborn photography session?
I recommend booking your newborn session during your second or early third trimester, ideally before baby arrives. Your session is reserved based on your due date, and once your baby is born, we’ll finalize the exact session date. Newborn portraits are typically photographed within the first 6–18 days after birth, but every baby is different, and older newborns are always welcome.
How much does a newborn photography session in Lafayette cost?
Newborn portrait experiences begin at $790. Your session includes a fully guided, in-home experience with professional studio lighting, backdrops, wraps, props, newborn wardrobe, and parent and sibling portraits. I bring everything needed directly to your Lafayette or West Lafayette home so you can enjoy a relaxed experience without packing up your newborn and traveling to a studio. Additional images and heirloom artwork are available to purchase.
What should we wear for our newborn photography session?
It’s best to avoid bright colors and clothing with logos. Creams, neutrals, blacks and grays photograph beautifully and are very timeless. I also love the look of textures/ simple patterns.
I do have a client closet with dresses/gowns/ tops for mom and siblings up to 2T if you wanted to wear something from my curated client closet.
