Photographer Lafayette Indiana | A Special In-Home Maternity Session for a Growing Family

One of the greatest honors as a photographer is being invited back to document a family’s story through multiple seasons of life. As a photographer in Lafayette, Indiana, there is nothing more meaningful than watching families grow and being trusted to preserve the moments that matter most.

Recently, I had the privilege of photographing a beautiful in-home maternity session for a family I’ve worked with for years. From Maternity, Newborn and Milestone sessions with their daughter, Avolet, to now celebrating the upcoming arrival of their baby boy due this July, it has been such a joy to walk alongside them during these special chapters.

A Full-Circle Moment

When I first met this family through my husbands coaching job, they were just beginning to grow their family. Over the past year, I’ve had the opportunity to capture so many important moments for them, from those sweet baby expressions at her newborn session to her smashing cake at her first birthday photoshoot.

Now, Avolet is a busy toddler, full of personality and curiosity, and she’s preparing for one of the biggest milestones yet: becoming a big sister.

Watching families evolve over time is one of my favorite parts of being a photographer serving Lafayette, Indiana families. These sessions become more than photographs. They become a visual story of a family’s journey.

Instead, they were able to relax in the comfort of their own home while we created timeless portraits documenting this season before their baby boy arrives. This was also super helpful to being at home with a toddler, dad was able to carry on with daily life while we did moms solo posing.
