An Alternative to Birth Photography
Fresh 48 sessions are ideal for families who wish to document their newborn’s first few hours without documenting the actual birth or labor. Because birth and labor can be an exhausting and private experience, Fresh 48 sessions provide a less invasive option, occurring within the first 48 hours of your baby’s life. These sessions focus on all of the lovely details without a photographer hovering over during the birthing process. They are essentially lifestyle photo sessions with a documentary feel that take place in the hospital or at home in the case of a home birth. They are perfect for documenting first feedings, diaper changes, baths, and introductions to siblings and other family members.
Why book a Fresh 48?
Your baby will grow so fast! Even in those first couple weeks you will not believe how much they have changed! These are not your typical in studio newborn sessions or lifestyle newborn photos, which I also provide. These sessions simply capture the gorgeous, genuine candid moments between family and your new baby with minimal posing from me. We will use the hospital supplies as props! The bassinet, the swaddle (unless you provide your own), the little outfit, etc.
Fresh 48 sessions are not the perfect wardrobe or hairstyle because let’s be honest, you just birthed a child which is exhausting!
What is included in your hospital fresh 48 session?
-I am on call for 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after your due date (babies come on their own time!)
– Within 48 hours of you delivering, we will schedule a time in the morning for me to come up to your birth place.
– Session will last approximately 45 minutes
– You will receive 25+ digital files via an online gallery to share with friends and family within 1-2 weeks following the session.
– 10 of those 25+ images will be delivered to you within 24 hours from the session (because I know how anxious you are to share your new arrival with friends and family!)

Whether held in the hospital or wherever you give birth, these sessions capture the raw, initial moments after welcoming your little one into the world and are truly emotional.
