What is a posed newborn session vs a lifestyle newborn photography session?

A newborn session that is posed is when your photographer puts your baby in cute and safe poses and photographs them. You have probably come across those squishy poses you see all over the internet. These are done on a table of some sort and in props.

A lifestyle newborn photography session is usually done in the comfort of your own home and are more documentary than a studio newborn session. Your photographer will come hang out at your home and just capture your story with your new baby. These are typically not not posed.
